When to Stay

The Wheatbelt experiences four distinct seasons, making it a year-round destination. Summers (December to February) are hot and dry, with temperatures often reaching 30–40°C. Winters (June to August) are cool and mild, averaging 5–18°C, with most rainfall occurring during this period. Spring brings colourful wildflower displays and pleasant temperatures of 15–25°C.

The Mid-West enjoys a Mediterranean climate with warm, sunny weather for much of the year. Summer temperatures typically range from 25–40°C, while winter brings mild days between 10–22°C. The region is particularly popular from April to October, when comfortable temperatures, wildflowers and outdoor activities are at their best.

The Gascoyne is known for its warm climate and abundant sunshine. Summer temperatures commonly range from 30–45°C, while winter offers pleasant days between 18–28°C and cool evenings. The most popular travel season is from April to October, when conditions are ideal for exploring the coast, station stays and national parks.

The Pilbara experiences hot summers, with temperatures often exceeding 40°C between November and March. Winter is warm and dry, with daytime temperatures generally ranging from 22–32°C and cooler nights. The dry season from April to October is considered the best time to visit, offering ideal conditions for sightseeing and outdoor adventures.

The Kimberley has two distinct seasons: the Dry and the Wet. The Dry Season (April to October) brings warm sunny days between 25–35°C, low humidity and ideal touring conditions. The Wet Season (November to March) is characterised by tropical heat, humidity, dramatic thunderstorms and temperatures ranging from 30–40°C, creating spectacular waterfalls and lush landscapes.
